Raoul Quilt

Raoul Textiles are an obsession in this house. My newest project took a long time to complete, but I could not be happier with the results.
I'm in love

Vintage Chenille Bedspreads

Last week I had no idea what a vintage chenille bedspread was. But a great picture and some time on Etsy have changed all that. I quickly became obsessed and rushed to the computer to see what Etsy would have in store for me... But I ended up with this one... I think it looks unbelievable in Claire's room... Great right?????

Scenes from a Candyland Birthday Party

My daughter wished for a Candyland birthday, and we had an absolute ball!
Happy Birthday sweet girl...

2014

With the New Year off to a somewhat shaky start, I finally feel really to declare my intentions of for 2014. Really there is only one... Give myself a break and enjoy what I already have. I am going to take steps to organize my home so that I can appreciate the things that are already here instead of wishing for what is out of reach. The closet is getting a overhaul, a dumpsters has been filled, and long lost treasures are finding their way out from under heaps of miscellaneous clutter. This doesn't mean that I do not have some major goals for the house this year...
I really want to tile my guest bathroom, I purchased a tile cutter.. how hard can it be? I'm sure I'll find out!

Canopy Bed

Every time I've had the opportunity to spend the night in a canopy bed, I've loved it! I never considered having one in my own home...
until now!
This option from good old Pottery Barn is currently on sale..
They are so cozy and elegant. I think this might need to happen. What do you think?

Acrylic Frame

loving the look of art and photography framed in acrylic? It's easy to do!
Here's mine!
I'm very proud of the recent addition to my daughter's room. The staff at Tap Plastics could not have been more helpful. They custom cut and drilled holes in the acrylic based on the measurement of my image.
The frame is held on the wall by a back plate that is screwed to the wall studs.
The bolts rest on the wall to provide enough distance to accommodate the wall plate. The only marks to the wall are the two screws used to hold the plate to the wall.
This was an affordable way to get the look I wanted, and it will be no problem to change the picture whenever I want. I printed the poster online through shutterfly for around $20, and the materials were $168. The labor was all me!
