It is always fun to find ways to get the look you want for your home at an affordable price. DIY projects can be intimidating, but the feeling of creating something yourself is well worth the effort. There are countless projects saved in our to do folder, but I finally got busy on a shelf project that I have been thinking about for ages. Made the trip to IKEA, hit the hardware store for paint, and in a few short hours Kindred had a lovely new gold etagere for the office!
After purchasing the Vittsjo shelf from IKEA, I prepared the parts for painting outside so that the fumes wouldn't be a bother.
Then it was time for the fun part...
I was satisfied with two coats.. it took four cans of paint to complete the unit.
My paint job was a little drippy in parts, but the little imperfections add character! After everything was dry, assembly was a cinch!
